As one chapter closes, another must be written. The Storyteller has torn the final pages from Castle Dark’s past, erasing the old king and queen from memory. In their place, he opens three chilling new tales: Feary Tales, Midnight Manor, and Containment Breach, each more twisted than the last.The castle’s story isn’t over… it’s only just begun.
Castle Dark at Castle Park runs select nights during the fall season for guests looking for a scary haunt experience around the corner. Now in its 17th year, the event was recently recognized by USA Today as the #3 Theme Park Halloween Haunt in the country for 2024, #5 in 2023. Castle Dark takes place inside Castle Park, where ghostly figures, monsters, and more take over during the night.

2. Do I need to purchase a separate ticket for Castle Dark?
Yes, Castle Dark is a night-time event that requires it’s own admission ticket. Purchase Tickets and Passes here.
3. What is the Age Recommendation for Castle Dark?
Castle Dark is a haunt event and is not intended for guests under 13 years of age. Refunds will not be provided to frightened guests. 4. Do you have a Rainy Day Policy?
We have a rainy-day guarantee policy! If we close early while you are in the park due to weather, visit Guest Relations for a free return ticket to visit another day.
5. Is filming or photography allowed while in the Mazes?
No flash photography or videography is allowed while in the maze as to not disrupt the haunt experience for others and for the safety of our scare actors. Failure to follow the maze rules will result in being escorted out by a team member.
6. Do you have ‘No Scare Bracelets’ for Castle Dark?
Yes, we have light up bracelets that let our scare actors know not to scare you throughout the park and scare zones. Visit Guest Relations for more details.
7. Are the rides open during Castle Dark?
Yes, our Ride Park (with the exception of Kiddieland) is in operation during Castle Dark! Visit our Rides & Attractions page for a complete list of available rides.
8. Are the lines for the mazes long?
Our mazes can vary in waittime by night. Skip the line and jump straight into the thrill.
9. Are the mazes free to enter?
Feary Tales, Midnight Manor and Containment Breach are all included in your Castle Dark admission ticket.

Castle Dark Entrance Process
All guests pass through our weapons detection system at the front gate. Signage is in place to inform you, that you are entering a security screening area.
Castle Dark Parking
General parking for Castle Dark is $25 per vehicle. Please note Castle Park solely accepts electronic payments. These include all major credit and debit card providers (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover). To save time, we recommend purchase parking online in advance. Platinum Passholders receive FREE parking, just scan your Platinum Annual Pass at the parking booth.
Castle Dark Chaperone Policy
Minors under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian of at least 21 years of age during the entirety of their visit to the Castle Park night-time event. The park does not assume any responsibility or liability for unattended minors. Please visit Park Rules & Security for more information.
Castle Dark Bag Policy
In order to streamline our screening process at the Main Gate and for the safety of our guests and team members, Castle Park allows only one bag per person. Bags must be no larger than the maximum seam dimensions of 8″ x 5″ x 2″ with the exception of diaper and medical bags during the Castle Park night-time event. Exceptions may be made for Guests with special dietary needs, including food allergies, baby food, and formula. All items are subject to search, and Metal detection equipment may be used. Castle Dark Outside Food & Beverage Policy
Outside food and beverages are not permitted during the Castle Park night-time event, with the exception of one sealed bottle of water per guest. Castle Park has a wide selection of Food & Dining locations to choose from during the nighttime event; however, food or drinks are permitted to be brought into the Park to accommodate Guests with special dietary needs, including food allergies. Guests with special dietary needs, including food allergies, may visit Guest Relations and ask to speak to a Food & Beverage Manager regarding specific questions about our food options.
Castle Dark Mask Policy
Masks that cover some or all of a person’s face are not permitted to be worn by any guest after 7 p.m during the nighttime event. If masks like this are worn, they must be free from additional coverings including fake blood, makeup or coloring.
Castle Dark Smoking and Drinking Policy
Castle Park is a non-smoking facility. No alcoholic beverages are permitted to be brought into the park, but may be purchased at select dining locations inside the Ride Park. See our full list of Dining Locations.
